Enough light for the next step
Scripture: Psalm 119:105 (KJV)
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
Some days, the hardest part is not taking the next step. It is wanting to know where every step will lead.
We rehearse conversations that have not happened. We try to solve next month before this afternoon is over. Uncertainty can make even a small decision feel heavy.
Psalm 119 gives us a gentle picture: God’s Word as a lamp for our feet. A lamp helps a traveler see where to place a foot. It does not reveal every bend in the road at once.
That picture invites us to bring our attention back to what God has made clear. We can speak truthfully. We can ask for help. We can offer forgiveness, keep a promise, or give our tired bodies the rest they need.
Faith does not require pretending the future is easy. It allows us to take a wise step while admitting that we cannot see the whole journey.
Today, you may have more questions than answers. You can still open Scripture, pray honestly, and choose one small act of faithfulness.
A step for today
Name one concern you keep carrying into the future. Then write down one helpful action you can take today. Let that be enough for this moment.
A prayer
Lord, give me light for the step in front of me. Quiet my need to control what I cannot see, and help me walk faithfully in what You have made clear. Amen.
